A Summer of Sustainable Farming

A Summer of Sustainable Farming

As growers of Christmas trees, you may assume that the summer months are the quietest time for us. However, as a sustainable, environmentally conscious farm, we find ourselves to be just as busy, as we prune and shear every tree on our 500 - acre farm to ensure uniformity of growth and perfectly shaped Christmas trees for our customers.

Believe it or not, several trees have already been cut and left our farm, for use in TV productions and photo shoots across the UK. So, while many of us are still enjoying the summer holidays, here on the farm, Christmas has already begun!

Whilst harvesting is already underway, sustainability is always at the heart of what we do, notably, our ongoing policy of replanting around 50,000 trees per year. For every tree harvested, we plant at least two trees to ensure that production on our farm is sustainable.

As well as providing natural habitats and shelter for wildlife, our Christmas tree plantations benefit the environment by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and releasing clean oxygen. Did you know that every acre of Christmas trees grown produces the daily oxygen requirement for 16 people?!

We’re just as passionate about protecting the environment as we are about our trees, and we look forward to providing our customers with the best UK grown Christmas trees this coming season!
